Miss America P51 texture for Eagle Dynamics Digital Comabat Simulator P-51D

Created by Sandman/311Gryphon

HISTORY:

Based on Miss America, a modified P-51D-30NA (44-74536) made in 1945 and originally part of the 372nd Fighter Group out of Esler Field, Louisiana.

The plane was transferred through several units before being sold as surplus in 1958 for $3,700.00. It became an air racer and has had at least 10 private owners.

It has had the bort number N991R since 1969 and is currently flown in air races and shows by Brent Hisey of Oklahoma City, OK.

In 2002 Miss America made an emergency landing on a qualification run and suffered major damage. She was put back together and given a new paint job and continues to fly.

INSTALLATION:

Put the Miss America folder in: "root directory" > Eagle Dynamics > DCS World > Bazaar > Liveries > P51D

There are some files called out in the description.lua file that are not used by the game. I can't make the spinning prop textures or the pilot body work currently. I hope to make them work and will update the file. I've left the .dds files in the folder for ease and to reduce confusion later on down the road. For me, not necessarily for you. I hope that isn't an inconvenience.

SPECIAL THANKS:

Thanks to many people for helping me learn to retexture (and in my continued quest to learn how to do it better). Ranger79, paulkiii, whiplash, Taproot, Crashmo, upuaut, and probably many more. Look them up. They are good folks and helpful on the Eagle Dynamics forums.

Feel free to send me a message in the eagle dynamics forums if you have comments or questions. Also feel free to visit my youtube channel and post comments or send questions there. YouTube's message interface stinks so forgive me if I don't notice messages for a bit.
